Fort portal is the main town found in Kabarole district in western side of Uganda. Its 320km(200mi) by road western side of Kampala. It takes about 4 hours and 20 minutes travel from kampala.
Kabarole District has a population of 469,236 people according to the 2014 population census report. The main local language spoken in fort portal is Rutoro and its under the rule of Omukama (king). Fort portal has a tropical climate with rare rainfall in most months of the year.
The economic activities in fort portal are mainly subsistence farming and Animal husbandry. Crops grown include Soya beans, cassava, bananas, sorghum, coffee, tea and millet mainly, Livestock is the second economic activity within.
